This is my interpretation of a Camp Half Blood necklace at the end of "The Son of Neptune" to an omnipotent camper that started at the same time as Annabeth Chase.
From left to right: White bead with a pine tree, Sky blue bead with a Greek Trireme on fire, Honeycomb bead with a centaur wearing a prom dress, Grey bead with Laden (the dragon) holding a golden apple, Orange bead with "Camp Half-Blood" written on it, Black bead with a sea green trident, Green bead with a golden ram/fleece, Red bead with a maze, Blue bead with the Empire State building and with capitol Greek initials on the rim of bead to represent the fallen, Purple bead with "SPQR" written on it, and a Sea Green bead with a golden eagle.
Creative license I've enacted: Annabeth's fourth and fifth year beads are a mystery so for her fourth year I've created a bead to represent Luke's failed quest to get a golden apple from the garden of the Hesperides that is guarded by the dragon Laden. For her fifth year I did a orange and black Camp Half-Blood bead. It's simple and gets the point across.
I've also done beads for "The Lost Hero" and "The Son of Neptune". Since "The Lost Hero" is about Jason, a Roman, I made this bead represent that with the purple backdrop to the golden letters of SPQR. I've also added some golden laurels to the bottom as well. For the "The Son of Neptune", the Eagle of the 12th legion is a big thing for new Rome, so I used the same blue/green paint for the green trident on black for the background of this bead with a golden eagle. I've also added blue lightening bolts to the bottom/sides.
I've seen other recreations but I wasn't satisfied with the execution of depicting the pictures. I don't like seeing obvious brush strokes and it's really really hard to see/paint anything on a round bead which is what I've mostly seen. Beads come in all shapes and sizes so I decided to use small oval beads.
Tools I used: Acrylic paints, small stone beads, fine paint brushes (I used nail clippers to get a finer edge), black cord, grey seed beads. Diameter of beads and cord is, I think, 12mm. Don't quote me though, I threw away the package.
Overall: I'm satisfied but I think I'll re-make it and maybe sell this one. Each bead has the same picture on both sides but they're mirrored horizontally and not vertically so when they flip, the reverse side looks upside down. Otherwise, I think it's pretty awesome.
I'll added deviations of close-ups of these beads.
